The Venue

Hi friends,

We will have both the ceremony and the reception following at The Island House on John’s Island, SC. It is about a 10 to 15 minute drive from the downtown area.

You can find more information about it here: www.islandhouseevents.com

Also, here is a link to the Google map of the area, and if you chose “Search Nearby” from the left hand side underneath the red “a” balloon, it will give you the option to search for close hotels, if you would prefer to stay closer to the venue: Google Maps.

Please feel free to email any questions to geminimegs@yahoo.com

We’re closely approaching three months to go!  🙂

Low Country Cuisine

One of the best things about Charleston is the food! We thought about the places we most love to eat and then asked a few locals for their opinions as well. So we’ve come up with a varied list that will suit fancy tastes to more basic, family oriented restaurants.

Megan Likes: Coconut Joe’s, Fleet Landing, Vickery’s, and this place looks very interesting though I haven’t been there. I’ll try it soon and report back! I’ve also heard Saffron Cafe and Bakery is great.

Cisco Likes: Hominy Grill, The Boathouse.

Kate Likes: Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, also The Boathouse.

Drew Likes: The Blind Tiger (he highly recommends the courtyard for seating), Coast, Hank’s, and SNOB, referenced below.

Chris (our caterer!) Likes: Slightly North of Broad (SNOB), Cypress, Magnolia’s, Oak Steakhouse, Monza, also Coast, Red Drum, and also Fleet Landing. (Mostly $$$; Downtown Charleston, Mt. Pleasant).

And, we recently watched this guy on “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.” Can’t wait to check him out!

If you have a favorite Charleston restaurant, please leave a comment!

Hello Family and Friends!

We’re so glad that you can be part of our exciting day in such a beautiful city. We’ve put together some recommendations with the help of some local friends for accommodations, dining, and things to do. We’ll be uploading those shortly.

We are very excited about October and look forward to seeing everyone there!
